North Wind is not just a classic Nonsuch 30, but she has been heralded as the fastest on Georgian Bay and ready to set sail this summer. The Nonsuch 30 is for sailors who value comfort, simplicity, and performance in equal measure. Designed by Mark Ellis and built by Hinterhoeller Yachts, the Nonsuch combines the timeless appeal of the traditional catboat with a thoroughly modern hull, creating a cruiser unlike any other. At the heart of the design is the unstayed wishbone cat rig—one large mainsail, no headsails, no standing rigging to adjust, and no complicated sail handling. Tacking requires only a turn of the wheel, while reefing and sail controls are conveniently handled from the security of the cockpit. The result is confident sailing for a couple, effortless single-handed operation, and more time to enjoy the pleasures of being on the water.

Below decks, the Nonsuch 30 offers the interior volume of a much larger yacht. Her nearly 12-foot beam, carried well aft, creates a bright and open living space with generous headroom, comfortable settees, a practical galley, private head, and inviting forward cabin. Warm teak joinery and thoughtful craftsmanship provide the atmosphere of a traditional cruising yacht with the convenience expected of a modern design. Above deck, wide side decks and the absence of shrouds create an uncluttered, secure environment for moving forward or relaxing at anchor. The deep cockpit is spacious enough for entertaining family and friends yet designed for easy control underway.

With its powerful hull, efficient underbody, and remarkable ease of handling, the Nonsuch 30 has proven itself capable of coastal cruising, offshore passages, and comfortable weekends afloat. It is a yacht that rewards experience without demanding it—a cruiser built to be sailed often and enjoyed by all.
